The original poster was distributed by legendary Italian advertising company, Ricordi, and created by pioneering illustrator Marcello Dudovich, as an advertisement for 'Fonotipia Records' (Dischi Fonotipia). This Italian gramophone record label was established in 1904 with the goal of recording leading opera singers, celebrity musicians and talented violinists.
